| Irresponsible
(demo) |
Sung from the point
of view of a battered invaded nation. |
| Garbage
Day |
An anti-Bush, Rock-the-Vote sort of
heavy guitar anthem (chords)
 |
| Honesty (demo) |
An honest world leader would
admit that superstition is the cause of most world strife. Is this anything? (chords)
(lyrics) |
| Confession |
Based on a true story of a
kid who settled a drug-related debt by tipping a gang member off to the return
of his own aunt from the currency exchange where she cashed her tax refund
check. She was gunned down in March 2002 in front of her Chicago home in
front of her daughter and husband, who were also wounded. The nephew
confessed a month later.
This was the music bed for the TLC Tugger radio ads. The track is
still missing a guitar lead. |
| Love
is Ecstacy (demo) |
Is this anything? |
| Love
Through Your Eyes (demo) |
A whimpy love song, but a
very special one. I wrote this for my sister's wedding by drawing
from the thoughts and love letters of the happy couple. The
recording from the ceremony is even worse, due to wind noise. |
| You
Turn Me On (demo) |
For my wife on our 10th
anniversary. Another whimpy one. |
| Immortality |
For my dear children.
I'm going to miss you when I'm dead. Smile. (lyrics) |
| Fun
Being Three |
The ongoing struggle to keep
a marriage fresh. |
| Watch
Me Grow |
This is about my best
friend's smokin' hot sister (so was "Mary and Joey" until I hit
upon the Jesus angle). She once said to me: "Isn't it amazing
how when you cut your finger, you can almost watch it heal?" It
made me wonder if she was actually into self-injury and crying out for
help. |
| Mary
and Joey |
What if biblical Joseph
didn't want to become famous for being married to a virgin? (lyrics) |
